Remember Not

Having survived an abusive relationship in college that left her a single mom, Rylie Davies excels at what has become her strong identity, that of a courageous horse trainer. She rehabilitates an abused show jumper, believing she and the horse will earn enough winnings to make her name as a top trainer, and put money in the bank for her daughter’s future.

Rylie’s alter ego is not so bold. She ensconces herself behind solid emotional walls where she protects herself from heartbreak and fights a private battle with PTSD.

When she and her horse, Eskador, attend the biggest competition of her life, a cowboy on a horse stalks her and her horse. She defends herself against the cowboy’s manhandling.

Jason Hughes, Texas horse breeder and oil man, has searched the show ring all season to find the rider who can take his breeding program to the next level. He follows an intriguing woman and her volatile black horse through the show ground parking lot. When it appears the fractious horse will trample her, Jason’s protective instincts drive him to snatch her out of the horse’s path. She kicks him in the chest and tells him to get lost.

That evening, Jason witnesses Rylie and Eskador win the Grand Prix. He believes she’s the rider he seeks, only there’s one problem. They’ve met when his chivalry stepped over the edge into the stupidity abyss and he tried to save her from her own horse.

Jason wants to hire Rylie , but first he must convince her he’s not a spoiled rich boy who uses force to get what he wants.

Eskador’s Grand Prix win photo, published in an international equestrian magazine, attracts a killer. Rylie’s test comes when she must trust Jason to protect Eskador and her family.

Remember Not is a learning-to-forgive-yourself and a daring-to-trust-again story, wrapped in an adventure filled with horses and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Title Inspiration

Remember Not's title comes from Isaiah 43:18 & 19 ESV:

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
